Obituary

Xavier Miramontes, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in Dallas, TX, surrounded by his loving family.

Xavier was born in Dallas on January 27, 1963, to Louis A. and Juanita Miramontes. Since he was a teenager, he showed a deep interest in becoming a chef. He got his start as a busboy and later, a cook, working for several of Dallas's infamous Tex-Mex restaurants. In the mid-1980's, he started working at the city's iconic restaurant the Hyatt Regency where he had the opportunity to hone his skills as a chef and to attend culinary school. In 1988, he was transferred to Florida, where he eventually got married and became a father – the job he loved most. While in Florida, he made the decision to leave the Hyatt Regency and go work for Aramark Corporation to be a District Executive Chef at Disney World, where he worked for twenty-five years.

In 2009, Xavier was transferred to Dallas to work for Aramark at Lockheed Martin and to be closer to his family. Even though he lived in Texas he always made sure to make multiple trips to visit his daughter, Frances, in Florida. Xavier loved her so much that the sound of her name always brought a smile to his face. He became an active member of his church, St. Francis of Assisi in Lancaster, TX, and later joined the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus where he eventually became Grand Knight and, in 2011, reached the honor of Fourth Degree Exemplification. In his free time, he volunteered with numerous community and faith organizations, contributing his time and talents as a chef. He also spent much of his time caring for his family, he was especially close to  his niece and nephews, Jordan, Skyler, Joel, and Ty who looked up to him as a grandfather figure and he always made sure to attend every school event.

Xavier leaves behind a life and legacy that his family will carry on – one that he exemplified daily – which is to move through this world with kindness, generosity, and empathy. And, because he loved telling jokes, to make people laugh as often as you can.

Xavier was preceded in death by his father, Louis Adame Miramontes, Sr.; his sister, Lisa B. Anderson; his brother, Joel A. Miramontes; and his youngest sister, Theresa Miramontes.

He is survived by the love of his life, his daughter, Frances Miramontes; his ex-wife and close friend of many decades, Leticia Miramontes; his mother, Juanita Miramontes; his siblings, Guadalupe Becerra, Louis Adame Miramontes, Jr., and Virginia Rosa; and countless nieces and nephews, who loved him so deeply.

In lieu of providing flowers, the family is asking people to donate to his GoFundMe
