Roy Wood

October 28, 1959 - March 6, 2023

William Lee-Roy "Roy" Wood, left this earth to join his Savior on March 6, 2023 at the age of 63.   He was born October 28, 1959 in Cheverly, Maryland, he was the son of the late Percy Hayward Wood and Ruby Naomi Boley Wood.

An author and prolific writer, he married his beautiful bride Marlo Del Rosario in 2001.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dallas.  Survivors include his wife Marlo; his children, Nicole Agnew and husband Dustin, Preston Wood and wife Holly and Zachery Wood; two sisters, Floy Evans and husband Holland and Ruby Sevcik and husband John; two brothers, Percy Wood and wife Kim and Jeff Ermer; and his six grandchildren Madison, Brooke and Lawson Agnew and Willow, Magnolia and Olive Wood and several nephews and nieces.

Roy never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh with his jokes.  He also took every opportunity he could to share with people about the loving and saving grace of Jesus. He was an obedient prayer warrior for God and touched many lives.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Truett Chapel of First Baptist Church, 1707 San Jacinto Street, Dallas, TX 75201 .  The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel.
