Thomas Kevin McCarthy

Thomas Kevin McCarthy, age 79, died on June 29, 2023, in Media, Pennsylvania. He was born July 30, 1943 in Topeka, Kansas to George Edward McCarthy, Sr. and Mary Helen Connolly McCarthy.

His family moved to Dallas, Texas in the late 40's where his father began a successful poultry and egg brokerage. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he continued on to Saint Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas where in 1968 he was awarded a BBA degree in Business Economics. From there he joined the U.S. Army and served for two years, including one tour in Vietnam. After his military service he began a forty-year career in sales and marketing and retired in 2008. Tom enjoyed working on his home and had a love for travel and scuba diving.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his elder brothers, Michael Donovan McCarthy and George Edward McCarthy, Jr. He is survived by his son, Kevin Fitzgerald McCarthy; his former spouse, Jeanette Diane Fitzgerald, mother of Kevin; his nephews, Thomas Matthew McCarthy and Brendan David McCarthy; and his nieces, Mary Ann McCarthy Breen, Mary Carolyn McCarthy Washko, Mary Helen McCarthy, and Bridget Alexandra McCarthy.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, July 17, 2023 at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas. Funeral Service will be at 9:45 AM, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the funeral home. Military Honors & Interment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
