Obituary

Sue Ann Alcala

May 28, 1961  ~  January 16, 2025

Sue Ann Alcala passed away on January 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, honesty, and family. Sue was born on May 28, 1961, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas to Betty Rios and Victor Alcala.

Sue graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1979, joined the United States Marine Corps immediately afterward and proudly served for 6 years. Her only child, Dallas Lee was born in 1983. She continued her career in aircraft mechanics at Delta Airlines and SkyWest. Sue loved all sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers, TCU and Liverpool. However, spending time with her family, especially her daughter, nieces and nephews brought her the most joy. Playing with her dogs, watching black and white movies, and hanging out at the Old Monk were some of her favorite activities in retirement. She would always tell it like it is and her laughter was unforgettable. Sue was not one to verbalize her emotions, she expressed her love by showing up, and by being present.

Sue is preceded in death by her mother- Betty Rios, father- Victor Alcala, sister- Virginia Ellis, brothers- Johnny Alcala and Gilbert Perez.

Sue is survived by her only child, Dallas Lee Alcala, sisters- Sandy Villagran and Gina Parker, brother- Joe Alcala, nieces- Gloria Leigh, Christina Angel, Marie, Valori, Michelle, Patricia, and Taylor, nephews- Chris, Nicky, Patrick, Joseph, Marcus, and many great nieces and nephews.
