Sofia Martinez

Sofia Martinez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 78. She was born on September 18, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Juan Camacho and Francisca Leza.

Sofia was a woman who expressed her love through the little things she did for the people around her. She enjoyed crafting, collecting figurines, thrifting, caring for her plants, sewing, and cooking for her family. She especially took pride in ironing with starch and making sure everything was just right. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Through her cooking, care, and generosity, Sofia always found ways to show her family how deeply she loved them.

Sofia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jorge Luis Martinez; her parents, Juan Camacho and Francisca Leza; her daughter, Noemi Rincon; and her son, Jorge Martinez.

She is survived by her children, Noe Rincon, Edgar Romero, Silvia Romero, Juan Martinez, Maria Isabel Martinez, and Daniel Martinez; her 14 grandchildren; and her 4 great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Services will be held in the chapel of Jeter & Son Funeral Home4830 West Illinois AvenueDallas, Texas 75211

Sofia's memory will live on through the family she loved so deeply, the traditions she created, and the many ways she showed her love throughout her life.

Sofia Martinez, amada madre, abuela, bisabuela y amiga, falleció en paz el 16 de agosto de 2026 en Dallas, Texas, a la edad de 78 años. Nació el 18 de septiembre de 1947 en Chicago, Illinois, hija de Juan Camacho y Francisca Leza.

Sofia fue una mujer que demostraba su amor a través de las pequeñas cosas que hacía por las personas que la rodeaban. Disfrutaba hacer manualidades, coleccionar figuritas, ir de compras a tiendas de segunda mano, cuidar sus plantas, coser y cocinar para su familia. También disfrutaba planchar con almidón y asegurarse de que todo quedara perfectamente. Sin embargo, su mayor alegría era compartir tiempo con sus hijos y nietos. A través de su cocina, sus cuidados y su generosidad, Sofia siempre encontraba la manera de demostrarle a su familia cuánto los amaba.
