Shirley Ladelle Bowling Horton

Shirley Ladelle Bowling Horton from Red Oak, TX age 86 passed away Tuesday July 30, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 3,1938 to George D and Lois Bowling in Paducah, TX.

She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Dallas, TX after 30 years of service and Tony Poncio Farmers Insurance Agent in Red Oak after 20 years. She had a lifelong love for Christ and was a member at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County. She enjoyed playing a game of 42 with a Pepsi in hand with her family and friends. She also had a love for bluegrass music and made sure to dress up in her fanciest western attire with her blingy belt and jewelry.

She is preceded in death by her father George D Bowling and mother Lois Bowling, her sister Laverne Farnum, her brother George Truette Bowling, her brother John Carroll Bowling, her husband of 35 years Williams Ernest Horton.

She is survived by her son Wesley and Susanne Horton of Tennessee, her daughter Carolyn Bostian of Arkansas, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.

A family and friend visitation will be held on Friday August 2, from 6-730pm at Jeter and Son Funeral Home in Dallas, TX.

There will be a graveside service Saturday at 1130 am at Horton Cemetery Farm Rd 1531, Commerce TX 75428 with Bro Chis Maddox officiating.
