Obituary

Sergio Sandoval

January 19, 1954 - September 3, 2024

Pastor Sergio Sandoval, born on January 19, 1954, entered into the presence of his Savior after a life filled with love, faith, and service. Born to Pedro L. Sandoval and Adalia, Sergio was a man whose heart beat for the gospel of Jesus Christ and whose joy radiated to everyone around him.

Sergio graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 1990, marking the beginning of a ministry that would span decades and touch countless lives. He faithfully pastored two beautiful congregations—Temple De Alabanza and Iglesia Fe Esperanza y Amor—where his deep love for God and people was always evident. His life's passion was preaching the gospel, sharing the good news of Jesus with a heart full of conviction and compassion.

A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, Sergio loved cheering on his team. But nothing made him happier than spending time with his beloved bird Andy, who brought him endless joy and companionship. Sergio was full of life, charismatic, and outgoing. He had a unique way of making everyone feel accepted and valued.

Sergio met the love of his life, Norma Gonzales Sandoval, when he was 20 and she was 13 at La Primera Iglesia Bautista. They were married in 2006 in Houston, Texas, and together they built a life rooted in love and faith. Sergio cherished his wife deeply and was a devoted husband.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Adalia and Pedro, and his brother Pedro. He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma, his brother David, and his sister Evangelina. His legacy lives on through his children: Pedro, Sergio, David, Jacob, Maria, Misael, and Annabelle. He leaves behind 33 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Crossroads of Life located at 123 W. Hwy 67, Duncanville, TX 75137.
