Sanh Thi Ly

June 15, 1938 - February 18, 2023

An endearing and selfless Mother of 7 Children, 5 Grandchildren, and 1 grandchild, Mrs. Sanh Thi Ly was born in Bác Lieu, Vietnam to Mrs. Dum Thì Thach and Mr. Khlot Thach. In 1958, she met the love of her life  Seth Khưu and stayed in Bình Tuy, Vietnam for his military service. After his passing, she continued to raise her children alone in Sóc Trăng, Vietnam until bringing two of her children to America where she later settled in Dallas, Texas. Regardless of the obstacles she faced, she made it a priority to contribute to the States and Vietnam. She was an avid gardener who used random house hold objects as plant pots. She grew several fruits and vegetables like pomegranates, lettuce, cilantro, aloe vera, and chilis. She enjoyed weekends at the Khmer temple volunteering and  traveling back to Vietnam for community service. Everything seemed to blossom in her presence. She enjoyed sugar on her potatoes and the occasional happy meal with a side of sprite. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her Khmer Lakorn on an iPad. She adored her grandchildren.

Mrs. Ly is survived by her brothers, Chanh Lam, Đến Lam, sister Kim Lam Ly, son, Ngoc Khưu, wife and children, daughter, Long Khưu, husband and children, and son, Hiện Khưu, wife and child.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Jeter and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
