In Memory of Ronny Howard Norris

November 10, 1946 – April 1, 2025

With profound love and eternal gratitude, we announce the passing of Ronny Howard Norris, a man whose life left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved him.

Born in Dallas, Texas, on November 10, 1946, Ronny was the cherished son of Elmer and Alvie Mae Norris, who instilled in him the values of integrity, hard work, and devotion to family. He grew up alongside his beloved siblings, Elmer and Carolyn, sharing with them an unbreakable bond. From a young age, Ronny deeply admired his older brother, Elmer, whose service in the United States Marine Corps inspired Ronny to follow in his footsteps.

At the age of 20, Ronny fulfilled that dream by joining the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving in the Vietnam War. His bravery, discipline, and sacrifice were honored with numerous commendations, including:

  • Two Purple Heart Medals, for valor and wounds sustained in combat
  • National Defense Service Medal, for honorable service during a time of national emergency
  • Vietnam Service Medal, recognizing his active participation in the war
  • Vietnam Campaign Medal, awarded by the Republic of Vietnam
  • Rifle Marksman Badge, for his skill and proficiency in marksmanship

Ronny carried the strength, discipline, and resilience he gained in the military into every aspect of his life.

While Elmer was his role model, Carolyn was his confidante and dearest friend. Their lifelong connection was a refuge of love and understanding, a testament to the enduring power of siblinghood. Ronny also cherished his sister-in-law Cathy, and his brother-in-law Wesley, who were both important figures in his life's journey.

His affection extended wholeheartedly to his nieces and nephews from the Norris and Speer families. He spoke of them with pride, treasured their milestones, and fondly recalled the time spent together.

Following his military service, Ronny forged a respected professional path, serving in various roles across the country before settling once again in his beloved Texas. In Plano, he worked with commitment and excellence until his retirement, later continuing his vocation of service as a dedicated driver with D.A.R.T..

However, Ronny's greatest achievement was the family he built. Alongside his beloved wife, Martha Isabel, he created a home filled with love, respect, and unwavering support. Together they raised two children, Mario and Paula, who carry forward his legacy of strength and compassion. Mario, united in marriage with Giovanna, shared his father's devotion to family. Paula, with her care and fortitude, remained a steady light in his life.

Among Ronny's deepest joys were his grandchildren, Francisco and Victoria Isabel. With Victoria, his "Bigun" (Big One), he shared a unique and loving bond—she was not only his granddaughter but also his heart's delight, his constant companion, and his pride.

Ronny's immense heart also embraced his loyal canine companions: Fang, Charlie, and Ranger. Their unwavering devotion brought him solace, joy, and a special kind of companionship that only a dog can offer.
