Obituary

Roma Jean Gilchrist Smith, 56, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on June 17, 2022.

She is survived by her parents, Romie Glen and Jean Smith; her sisters Nancy (John) Reeves and Leslie Klein (Scott Allison); her nieces and nephew Jilian (Coyte) Greer, Justin (Kathryn) Reeves, Alison Klein, and Erica Klein; and great nieces and nephews Campbell, Ian, Lachlan, and Iona Greer, and Lainey, Meredith, and Nathan Reeves. She was loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Roma was born on June 22, 1965, to Romie Glen and Jean Smith in Dallas, Texas. As a child, she enjoyed trips to visit family in Scotland and Port Arthur and playing with her sisters and cousins. After graduating from Kimball High School, where she was a talented basketball player, she went on to study at Baylor University.

After graduation, she worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, where she enjoyed meeting new people and traveling around the world. She eventually settled down in Austin before moving to San Francisco. She worked as a masseuse while earning her master's degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and she was a talented acupuncturist and herbalist. In 2010 she moved back to Dallas to be near family. She loved her family, friends, dogs, nature, and Mexican food.

Roma's memorial service will be held on July 2, at 11:00 AM, at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in the Chapel, with a reception to follow.
