Obituary

Rogerio (Roger) Botello died on August 20, 2022.
Roger was born on September 28, 1940.  He was raised in San Antonio, Texas, the youngest son of 8 children.  After graduating high school in 1958, he heard the call to serve our country and joined the Army.  Roger would go on to complete technical school and move to Dallas where he would visit a new church, meet his wife, Tina, and soon start their family.  He enjoyed playing and watching soccer, coaching several of the teams his children played on.  As a member of the United Methodist Church, he loved music and singing in the choirs of  Brooklyn Avenue UMC and Tyler Street UMC, he served as an MYF leader and loyal Sunday School member.  Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Tina.  He's survived by their 4 children, Laura, James, Mark, and Keith, 5 grandchildren, Monica, Madelyn, Olivia, Opal, and Johnathan, and great-grandson, Isaac.
It was at work that he would meet his future wife, Maria.  He's survived by Maria, her 4 children Israel, Tomas, Elizabeth, and Oseas, and 3 grandchildren, Mariah, Sophia, and Jasmine who he came to love as deeply as if they were related by blood.
Roger is preceded in death by his mother, Frances, and father, Santiago, his brothers Roy, Ray, Raymond, and Rudy, and survived by his brother Frank and sisters Betty and Irene.
