Rodney Vance Williams

Rodney Vance Williams was born in Dallas Texas on November 27, 1950. He went to be with his  Savior and Lord on June 12, 2024. He was 73.

He married Paula Sue Studebaker ("the lovely Mrs. Williams") on February 10, 1973.  They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Rodney joined the United States Army in 1971.  He served one tour in Vietnam (1971 - 1972). He was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was in A Company 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) at Camp Evans Vietnam as a M-60 Machine Gunner. He left the Army in 1972 as a Specialist E-4.

Rodney was an esteemed Life Member of the Combat Infantrymen's Association. He served on the board of directors as the Associations Membership Officer from October 2018 until his passing. He was a highly valued advisor to the National Commander.

After serving in the Army, Rodney worked for several police departments, including Duncanville PD, Grapevine PD, and SMU Security. He was then employed as a Railroad Conductor for the Southern Pacific Railway.

Rodney owned and operated a private investigation firm and consultant practice. He was a legal consultant to multiple law firms.

Rodney received an Associates in Applied Arts and Sciences from El Centro College in 1982. He received two bachelor degrees and graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 1985. He then received a Masters in Humanities from Southern Methodist University in 1988.

He was an adjunct professor in Criminal Justice at Dallas Baptist University.

He retired as a Senior Investigator for the Department of Labor.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Henry Bond Williams, his mother Norma Ruth Williams, his brother, Henry Williams, and his brother Steve Williams .

He is survived by his wife, Paula Williams, his daughters, Melissa Velez, Amanda (Sani) Ali, Sara Williams, and two adopted daughters, Briana and Alana;

His grandchildren, Austin Velez, Hannah Williams, Shawn Ali, Wyatt Ali, and Zane Ali; Colson Cypress, and Lorelei Cypress; and one great-grandchild Theo Macias and a host of family and friends.
