In Loving Memory of
Pastor Ricardo Rosas
August 2, 1950 – October 22, 2026
Pastor Ricardo Rosas, 76, of (Oak Cliff) Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Blissfield, Michigan, to the late Pedro and Juanita (Salinas) Rosas, Ricardo lived a life defined by unwavering faith, diligent hard work, selfless service, and profound love. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, ordained minister, and faithful servant of God.
Throughout his career, Ricardo worked for Cal’s Cab in Adrian, Michigan, and the Port Authority in both Detroit, Michigan, and Toledo, Ohio where he later Pastored Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship Toledo. A highly motivated and successful entrepreneur, after moving to Dallas, Texas, he was the proud owner of Rebel Roofing Company, R-Contractors, and Rosas Roofing Company, as well as the former owner of the Bahia Apartments. Outside of his professional life and ministry, he embraced life with vibrant energy. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating and camping. In his earlier years, he was remarkably disciplined, running four miles every morning and earning a brown belt in karate. He also had a playful affection for the Dallas Cowboys—and though he didn't care much for football itself, he took great joy in proudly wearing his gear and representing his team.
His true life's calling, however, was serving others. Ricardo faithfully served the Lord through numerous ministries, including Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship in Irving and Dallas, Texas, Bill Glass Ministries Prison Ministry, Angel Tree, and various other church outreaches. Later in life, he became a devoted member of The Sowers Ministry Church, where he continued to grow in faith and serve others.
Known for his generous heart, steadfast prayers, and an unforgettable sense of humor, he touched countless lives through his compassion and dedication to helping those in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Juanita (Salinas) Rosas In-laws Amado and Petra (Martinez) Casarez ; his son, Richard Lupe Rosas; his daughter, Denise Michelle Rosas; his son-in-law, Jorge Iruegas Sr.; his brothers, Fabriel, Francisco, Victor, and Albert Rosas; his great-granddaughter, Aniah Michelle Iruegas; and his great-grandson, Imani Jovan Johnson.
Ricardo’s memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife of 57 years, Josephine Casarez Rosas; and his daughter, Frances Rosas Iruegas. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Dilyard; and his brother, Lupe (Cuca) Rosas.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Juanita (Ivy) Johnston, Ricardo (Debra) Rosas, Celina Rosas, Sonya (Rick) Taylor, Jorge Iruegas Jr., Jacqueline Estrada, and Andrew Estrada; his great-grandchildren: Malachi Rosas, Shawn Davis, Miguel Piedra, Josiah Johnson, Isaac Piedra, Jacob Piedra, IvyAnna Denise Johnson, Matthew Jorge Piedra, Alexander Johnson, and Cristian Piedra; and his great-great-granddaughter, Za'Niyah Marie Rosas, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Ricardo's profound legacy of faith, love, generosity, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He has fought the good fight and finished the race.
