Pete Mejia, Jr.
October 6, 1944 - June 9, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband Pete Mejia, Jr. He left this world on June 9, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Pete will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Pete was born on October 6, 1944 in Kingsville, TX to Pete and Felecidad Mejia. He served honorably in the Air Force based in California. He then moved to Texas to work for the Army Air Force Exchange Service where he retired after working in the Information Technology division for 31 years. Pete was 78 years old at the time of his departure.
Pete's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, fishing, BBQing, watching westerns, sports and going on family trips. Pete was a fighter, a survivor and the epitome of strength and perseverance. He was a God fearing man who protected and adored his family and friends. His smile was contagious and brightened the darkest of rooms. He was loved by all who were blessed to know him. During this difficult time, we find solace in the memories we shared with Pete. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
Pete Mejia was preceded in death by his father, Pete and brother, Chris Mejia.
Pete is survived by his wife Lucy, daughter Melissa Spradling and husband Seth, son Peter Mejia and son John Mejia and wife Maribel. He was a cherished grandfather to Sabrina and Xavier Mejia and a dear friend to many. He is also survived by his mother Felecidad and sisters Connie (Reyes) and Carmen (Frank)
