In Loving Memory of Owen Ryker Poth
February 15, 2020  –  January 15, 2026

Owen Ryker Poth was a gift from the Lord!  He brought great joy, life, and smiles to those around him. Owen was on loan to us from the Lord for five wonderful years, bringing much kindness, tender-heartedness, love, and care for others. He loved Jesus and loved laughing with his family and friends.

Owen loved dinosaurs, trucks, soccer, and swimming. He was so imaginative and would come up with the best stories. Always a deep thinker and thoughtful. His impact on every community he was part of is undeniable. His church family at Église Baptiste Bethlehem, his embassy family in Yaoundé, and his friends all over the world all loved him so well and so much. Owen brought such joy to the Striking Eaglets Soccer Team, the Embassy Sharks swim team, the École de Musique Arbre à Musique. He also loved looking at books and learning new things, especially about animals.

For such a young kid, Owen was able to enjoy a lot of God's creation. He lived in three countries, saw two natural wonders of the world, visited multiple countries, camped in the Sahara, hiked the Dolomites, hugged the redwoods in California and of course, saw hundreds of different animals. His love for life and family was only dimmed by his love for Jesus.

Owen is the beloved son of Ben and Jenny Poth, and a loving brother to Lennard, Charlee, Sadie, Blakely, and Jesse.

The Celebration of Life Service for Owen will take place on Saturday, the 7th of February 2026, at 1:00 pm at Bethel Bible Church South Campus in 17121 US-69, Tyler, Texas, 75703. The dress code is casual. It is a celebration of his life, so colourful clothing is very welcome.

In lieu of contributing flowers, the family would appreciate donations going towards the building project for their Église Baptiste Bethlehem in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The link is https://forthejoyofcameroon.com/.
