Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ned Beiser, D.O.

Dr. Beiser passed away on April 15, 2026, at 91 years old peacefully at his home in Desoto, TX. He was born August 7, 1934, in Peru, Illinois to Elmer and Arville Beiser.

Dr. Beiser graduated from La Salle Peru High School in 1952. After high school he enrolled in the University of Illinois but had to leave in 1953 due to a car accident.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He went through basic training and advanced training, followed by Mountain Troop Special Forces Infiltration Training. In 1954 he was accepted into the Medical Field Laboratory School at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas where he graduated as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Following this he was assigned to hospitals in the States and Germany. He received a discharge to the Reserves in 1956. He attended the University of Wichita from 1956 -1959, receiving a В.А. Then enrolled in the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery and graduated with a degree of Doctor of Osteopathy in 1963. His Postgraduate work was at the Stevens Park Osteopathic Hospital, rotating internship from 1963-1964. Upon completion of the internship, he went into private practice in Dallas, Texas. He then joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1969-1973, attaining the rank of Major. He took the Family Practice Specialty Boards in 1974 and became Board Certified. In July of 1981, he joined the Texas Air National Guard, and attended the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He did the flight part of the Aerospace training at Randolf Air Force Base. He became the Commander of the 136th TAC Hospital in 1988 and was promoted to the rank of Colonel. During his military duty with the Air Guard, he was placed on Active Air Force duty many times. He was assigned as a Flight Surgeon in numerous State side hospitals, also in Alaska, Germany, Spain, Panama, Pacific Theater. He also supported many missions in the Caribbean for the support of our Allied Countries. Also, during this time, he was on call for Special Operations as a sub assignment to another Government Agency.

He was on active duty for Desert Storm, assigned to Homestead Air Force Base as a Flight Surgeon and to the Internal Medicine Clinic. When Desert Storm began,

He was reassigned to other tasks. He retired from the Military in 1994 as a Colonel, and a Senior Air Force Flight Surgeon. He continued to practice as a Family Practice Physician as much as possible when he was not on military duty. He carried on an active private practice, with special interest in Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiovascular Disease, and all other related pathology. He attended many post graduate training clinics, Continuing Medical Educational presentations and Conventions with educational lectures. Dr. Beiser was on the medical staff of Methodist hospital for 50 years. After 63 years he officially retired from his medical practice on April 10, 2026.

During Dr. Beiser's time in the military he received many awards including Air Force outstanding unit award, Occupation medal (Germany), National defense medal, Air Force Longevity service award, small arms expert marksmanship ribbon and Governors unit citation to name a few.

On January 13, 1994, Dr. Beiser married Chelsia Leuty in Las Vegas. Dr. Beiser and Chelsia loved to travel and show their Papillions as often as they could. Dr Beiser loved to fly his airplanes on his time off. Him and his friends would fly all over Texas trying different restaurants they had heard about. But he received the most pleasure out of seeing his patient and healing them. He always took the time to talk to them and explain what was going on with their health. He was always trying to teach anyone that wanted to learn about medicine. Medicine was his greatest passion. Every night he would read for 2 hours always wanting to learn new medical information. He was a preceptor for the UT Southwestern and UT Arlington.

Dr. Beiser is preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Nicholas Beiser.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Chelsia Beiser, brother and sister in law Bob and Maria Beiser of Atlanta, GA., 2 sons Fred Beiser of Houston and Geoffrey Beiser of Dallas, step daughter Doris McRae of Ovilla, 2 grandchildren Christy Garcia and Jacob Beiser , and 2 great granddaughters Brooke Sanchez and MaKynlee Garcia and multiple nieces and nephews. Dr. Beiser also loved his "Girls" at work, Lucinda Trevino, Teesha Harrison, Carmen Soto, Julie Davila, Eloisa Gonzales, Maria Olivo and Ayana Martinez.  He is also survived by so many wonderful friends that it would be impossible to list them all.

Dr. Beiser's service will be at Jeter and Son, 332 Cedar Street, Cedar Hill, TX on April 22, 2026. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 with the service starting at 3:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Dallas- Ft. Worth National Cemetery on April 29, 2026, at 11:30 am. Pastor Peter McNabb will be the minister.
