Morris (Buck) Edward English was born in Lovelady, Texas on October 5, 1929 to parents Kathleen Palmer and Lace English.
Buck passed away at home in Irving, Texas on April 2, 2025 surrounded by family.
Left to cherish Buck's memory are his daughter Debra Goldstein (husband Brian), his grandchildren Lisa Harper (husband Ed), Pamela Parmerlee (husband Mike), Greg Zablosky (wife Brooke), and great grandchildren McKinsey Harper, Ashlynn Harper and Henley Zablosky.
Buck is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Vardie Mae English, his daughter Dianne McKenzie, his sisters Doris English, Joy Mize and Audrey Garner-Bain.
Buck grew up in the country. He had wonderful, funny stories about those days. His most cherished memory was his widowed Mother who cared for her children during difficult times. Buck loved hunting and fishing; and provided wild game for their dinner table.
At age 17-years old Buck joined the Marine Corps serving during the Korean War in the Motor Transport Unit hauling gasoline.
Upon leaving the Marines, he chose truck driving as his career. In 1955 he was hired by Rheem in Houston, Texas long hauling water heaters and air conditioners to various states. Rheem later transferred him to Dallas, Texas and in 1970 to Fort Smith, Arkansas.
In Texas he received an award for driving one million miles. His plaque was inscribed "40 Times Around the World" signifying how long it takes to drive a million miles.
In Arkansas he was awarded the "3 Million Mile" record of driving for Rheem without an accident. He proudly displayed a sign on his truck that read "34 Years with Rheem".
In Arkansas Buck and wife Mae enjoyed trap and skeet shooting tournaments. They made long-lasting friendships.
Buck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was funny, caring, friendly and he will forever be remembered by family and friends
Services will be at Jeter & Son Chapel, 4830 W. Illinois Ave, Dallas, Texas.
