Mickey Allen was born on July 6, 1948 in Waxahachie, TX. He was the oldest of three boys born to Martha and Herschel Doolen Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin daughters, Carrie and Avery, his father-in-law, Ralph Henson, his nephew, Ryan Allen, and his brother, Charlie Allen. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheri, sons, Kirby and Keaton, brother, Herschel Dwayne Allen- wife Elda, sister-in-law, Brenda Allen, brothers-in-law, Randy Henson, Ronnie Henson- wife Kathy, mother-in-law, Winnie Henson, as well as so many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.
After graduating from Waxahachie HS, Mickey was drafted into the United States Marine Corps and sent to Viet Nam. There he served in the field with demolition duties. After serving his country, he worked at Southwestern Bell, AT&T, and Allen Communications. He was a telephone man.
Mickey loved going to the deer lease in Oklahoma and had a deep bond with his buddies there.
Mickey was always a competitive athlete. He was on the Lake Leroy water ski team competing in slalom and waterski jumping. Later he began training on the bicycle and had a 40-year career in bicycle racing. He started his journey on the Mirage Cycling Team but spent decades racing for the Matrix Cycle Club. He competed in many different kinds of races. He excelled in road racing and also track racing at the Velodrome in Frisco and in Houston. He was still training for these races at age 75. This activity was the joy of his life, and he made so many cherished friends through his racing.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Midlothian, TX.
