Maria L. Rodriguez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was called home on Saturday, June 18th, 2022, at the age of 68 to be with her heavenly father. She died peacefully with her beloved family by her side.

She's fought a long battle of breast cancer and underlying health conditions. She was a warrior and fought to the very end. Though she fought many battles she won the ultimate reward. She was truly our hero and a woman of God.

She was loving and caring to all those who crossed her path. She will always be loved, cherished, and forever remembered.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents Julio Garza and Odelia Garza Herrera. brothers; David Garza, Johnny Garza, and sisters; Janie Watson, Angie Rosales, Pat Padilla.

She is survived by her husband Hilario Serna Il children; Hilario Serna Ill, Johnny Serna, Angel Rico, stepchildren; Jeanette and Homer Serna, grandchildren; Nathan Rico, Zachary Rico, Amanda Rico, Desiree Rodriguez, Selena Vega, Avvery Serna, Olivia, Tabitha, Hilario IV, Alanna, and Dillon Serna, great-grandchildren; Julian Rico, Hailee Rico, Camila Rodriguez, brother; Ricky Garza, sisters; Margaret Gonzalez, Elizabeth Aguirre, and several brothers and sisters in law, many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many of her church friends from Centro de Adoración and family that she loved deeply.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of Jeter & Son Funeral Home located at 4830 West Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211 .
