Maria Carmen Garcia

Maria Carmen Garcia, 83, of Lancaster, died Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Methodist Charlton Medical Hospital. Born July 14, 1939 in Guanajuato, Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Felix Barrera Rosiles and Natividad Jimenez Tirado. She married Nestor Garcia Cabrera. She was a homemaker and attended San Francisco of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster.

María Carmen Garcia was a lively, outgoing caring human being.  She was always very hospitable and always put other's needs before hers.  Her hobbies included knitting and caring for her birds and plants.  She also loved all bright colors especially in her flowers and enjoyed "blingy" dresses and jewelry.  Survivors include her husband Nestor; three sons, Nestor Jesus Garcia, Jose Felix Garcia, and Juan Miguel Garcia; three daughters, Ma. Guadalupe Garcia, Rosa Carmen Garcia, and Gabriela Garcia; a sister Natividad Barrera Jimenez; sixteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

The viewing and visitation will be 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Jeter and Son Funeral Home of Dallas, 4830 West Illinois Ave. The Rosary will commence at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2023. Location of the mass is Nuestra Señora del Pilar Catholic Church, 4455 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas, TX 75211 .  Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 South R. L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas 75232 .
