Obituary

In Loving Memory of Maria Leticia “Lety” Casarez

Maria Leticia “Lety” Casarez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, was called home to the Lord on August 28, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on December 16, 1958, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, and spent most of her life in Dallas, Texas, where she built a life centered around the people she loved most.

Lety had a sweet and gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She was soft-spoken and nurturing, always offering kindness and care in her own quiet way. Beneath that was a remarkable strength and a warm sense of humor that brought laughter and light to those around her. She had a way of making people feel comfortable, accepted, and cared for simply by being herself.

Her children were her greatest accomplishment, and she took great pride in her family. The love she shared with them will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Lety is survived by her children, Maria "Kina" Casarez; Tommy Casarez and his wife, Rachel Martinez; Adella Casarez and her husband, Abel Moreno; and Juan Jose Rosas; her grandchildren, Angelica Moreno, Abel Moreno IV, Alyssa Moreno, Anthony Moreno, Jayson Rosas, and Lorenzo Casarez; her step-grandchildren, Mariah Hinojosa, Serena Hinojosa, and Damian Cervantes; her great-grandchild, Adam Escobedo; her step-great grandchildren, Sonny Ayala, Andrea Rios, and Ezekiel Rios; and her siblings, Consuelo Quiroga, Josefina Rodriguez, Mario Tapia, Esperanza Lopez, and Alejandro Briones.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Andrea Briones, and her brother, Jesus Diaz.

Lety will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
