Maria Guadalupe Alvarado

December 9, 1948 ~ April 16, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" Alvarado on April 16, 2025. Born on December 9, 1948, Lupe lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.

Lupita was the heart of her family—deeply cherished by those who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Mario Alvarado,  her daughters, Claudia Jasso and Janie Alvarado (Thomas Canter) their families, and her beloved siblings. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren— Briana Jasso (Sommer Washington), Madelyn Jasso (Dominic Weiss), and Samuel Canter —and her beloved great-grandchildren, Hazel Vasquez and Skylar Weiss. Lupe's love for her family knew no bounds. She was fiercely proud of their accomplishments, and nothing made her happier than spending time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lupe was preceded in death by her sons, Jose M. Alvarado Jr. and Guadalupe Alejandro Alvarado, whom she has now reunited with in eternal peace. She was also preceded by her beloved brother, Javier Nava, and her parents, Jose and Francisca Nava.

Lupe had a vibrant spirit and a warm soul. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—long phone calls with her siblings, special moments with extended family, and unforgettable girl trips to the casinos in Oklahoma. Her laughter and light-hearted nature left a mark on everyone she met.
Though miles sometimes separated her from her loved ones, Lupe always found a way to stay connected. Family was everything to her—whether near or far, she held each relationship close to her heart.

Lupe's legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

A private family service will be held to celebrate her life.  The family asks that you honor Lupe's memory by spending time with your loved ones—just as she would have wanted.

Maria's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a Rosary at 5:00 P.M. at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, located at 4830 West Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at St Cecilia Catholic Church, 1809 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208, followed by burial at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.

Maria will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her faith.
