Obituary

Mac Edward Pieper
August 27, 1979 – June 15, 2025

Mac Edward Pieper, 45, of Whitehouse, Texas passed away on June 15, 2025 at his home. Born on August 27, 1979 in Long Beach. Mac was a loving son and brother, a great friend, a proud patriot, and a dedicated member of the veteran community.

Mac was the son of Vickie Ann and Stephen Douglas Pieper. He graduated from Garden Grove High School in1997. He joined the United States Army in 2003, proudly serving as a Sergeant during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Mac was a true friend and leader to those who served alongside him. He cared deeply for his fellow service members and allowed his time in service to define his life in the best ways.

Mac was the type of person that could give you all of his love, or give you hell, and sometimes it was a bit of both. He thrived on sarcasm and the use of his quick wit but could just as well be the most comforting encourager you've ever met. He was the type of man you wanted by your side when things got hairy.

After all, he was quite hairy himself. Which may help explain his deep love of animals. Mac never met a pet he didn't love and gave his hound mix, Calloway, the best life a dog could hope for. Service dog turned couch potato, Calloway gave Mac the love and support that only man's best friend can.

Mac was stubborn and tough, two traits that served him well when life was busy throwing him curve balls. But even on his hardest days you would not hear him complain. He lived his life fully and he did truly light a room with his big smile and laugh.

Mac is survived by his parents, Vickie and Stephen Pieper, his sisters; Stephanie (Aaron) Nichols and Christina (Zack) Ellison, his niece, Hailey Nichols, and his nephew, Hunter Nichols, as well as countless other relatives and dear friends who will forever carry on his memory.
