In Loving Memory of Luis Mendoza Jr.
July 27, 1968 – September 10, 2026
Luis Mendoza Jr., born on July 27, 1968, in Ludington, Michigan, passed away on September 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Luis was the beloved son of Luis Mendoza Sr. and Oralia Negrete, who survive him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who treasured the time he spent surrounded by the people he loved.
Luis shared 22 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Susana Lopez Mendoza. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories.
He is survived by his biological children, Roxanne Mendoza (Gabriel Juarez), Samantha Mendoza (Tallen Contreras), and Melinda Victoria Mendoza (Geno Duran), and his stepchildren, Romeo Hernandez (PID), Jon-Erik Hernandez, and Erica Hernandez. He was a proud grandfather to Israel Trevino, Michael Trevino, Leila Mendoza, Juan Rico, Gabrielle Juarez, Abraham Trevino, Elias Silva, Noah Duran, Sofia Contreras, Emma Contreras, Davian Oldknow, Eliana Oldknow and Dante Oldknow, who brought him great joy and whom he loved dearly.
Luis is also survived by his siblings, Carlos Mendoza, Abraham Mendoza (Liz), Alicia Sandoval (Evaristo), and Rebecca Flowers (TeShay), along with many other cherished family members and dear friends who will forever remember his presence in their lives.
Luis had a passion for the things that brought him joy. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he could always be found rooting for his team. He had a genuine love for cars and enjoyed everything about them—from wrenching and working on them to watching and admiring all types, especially LowRiders, sports cars, and racecars. His appreciation for cars was a special part of who he was and something he enjoyed sharing with others.
Luis also enjoyed Tejano music and dancing, creating memories filled with music, laughter, and good times. Above all, Luis loved being around family and friends. His memories, laughter, passions, and the love he gave to those around him will remain with them always.
Though he may no longer be with us, Luis's memory will live on through his parents, wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and the many friends whose lives he touched.
Until we meet again, Luis. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
