Nov 19, 1945 — Apr 7, 2024
Linnie Pitt
Linnie Dwayne Burke Pitt was born November 19, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to Rufus and Dorothy Burke. She met her Lord and Savior face to face on April 7, 2024 in Dallas, Texas.
After graduating from Tremble Tech, Linnie married David Lee Pitt. Linnie earned her beautician's license and worked in the cosmetology industry for 17 years. During that time, they welcomed their daughter, Kristy Lynn into the world. In 1978, Linnie changed career paths, beginning her wonderful 35 years at the First Baptist Dallas Day Care. While working at the Developmental Learning Center, Linnie was able to earn an Associate's degree in Child Development. Linnie loved children and worked in many areas of the preschool ministry at First Baptist Dallas. Over her lifetime she was able to impact the lives of thousands of children, teaching them about Jesus. Linnie was an avid reader. She loved to do crossword puzzles, word games, and work puzzles. Anyone that knew Linnie knew that she loved the Lord, her daughter, and her grandchildren. She loved to watch the music concerts and theatre productions that her grandchildren were involved in.
Linnie is preceded in death by her husband, David Pitt, her brother, Weldon Burke, and her parents, Rufus and Dororthy Burke. She is survived by her daughter, Kristy Bunch, son-in-law, Steven Bunch, grandchildren, Caden, Carson, Kylie, and Cohen Bunch, sisters, Drucilla Perez-Tubens and Darlene Camp, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
