Lillian Marie Garey was born August 17,1929, passed away peacefully at Midtowne Assisted Living with her family by her side on March 7, 2025.
She is survived by two children: Glenda Richardson, husband Grant and son Les Garey and wife Karen. Six grandchildren, Lesley Ashford and husband Brad, Kristen Richardson, Glenn Garey and wife Stephanie, Lindsey Warren and husband Shawn Warren, Alyssa Minor and husband Brady, Rachael Jirrels and husband Tim. 16 Great grandchildren, Bryson, Makayla, Alexis, Eli, Dylan, Everly, Hudson, Emerson, Lyla, Micah, Knox, Adelaide, Liam, Palmer, Harper, and Margot.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillian was born in Pear Valley, Texas to Arthur and Myrtle Peel on August 17, 1929. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 64 years, David Garey, parents, Myrtle and Arthur Peel, Brothers, Otis Peel, Leamond Peel, and Leon Peel, sisters, Rosealla Hammonds, Lenoria Dowdy and Lera Von Peel.
Lillian worked at Methodist Medical Center for 20 years. After retirement, David and Lillian traveled with friends in their travel trailer. She enjoyed crafts and made the girls numerous American girl doll clothes, she crocheted, cross stitched, crafted jewelry and was known for her wonderful Peanut Brittle.
David and Lillian were long time members of The Oaks in OAK CLIFF and later Red Oak.
The last three years, she resided at Midtowne Assisted Living in Midlothian. At Midtowne, she made many new friends, she loved them dearly and they also loved her.
Lillian's two most important things in life were God and Family. Her faith and her belief in the power of prayer was very evident in her daily life. She was a mighty Prayer Warrior, she prayed daily, in the morning, and before bedtime for each one of her family members. What a legacy, she has left .
In lieu of flowers, her family would very much appreciate donations to Midtowne Assisted Living, who have started a non profit foundation in honor of Lillian Garey that will assist residents due to financial hardship.

Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Jeter & Son Funeral Home - Cedar Hill, TX
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Jeter & Son Funeral Home - Cedar Hill, TX
Graveside Service will take place at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
