Larry Caraway

Larry James Caraway, age 56, of Cedar Hill, Texas passed away at his home on June 24, 2024. He was born April 20, 1968 in Irving, Texas to parents Larry and Paula Caraway currently of Cedar Hill.

Larry James is survived by his parents along with his son Levi Caraway of Waco, sister Laurie Stanford and husband Bob of Midlothian, nieces Lynnsey and Lacey Stanford as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. H.V. and Thelma Caraway as well as Paul and Alma "Corky" Pierson.

Larry James played football and graduated from Duncanville HS in 1986. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990 and earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa in 1992. Upon graduation, he opened his own law office in Duncanville where he practiced law for the majority of his career.

If you knew Larry James, you knew his passion for sports and his beloved Longhorns! Our family held season football tickets for over 30 years and rarely did he EVER miss a home game. Over the years he made many friends and loved cheering on the Horns.

He and his dad were great golfing buddies and enjoyed traveling all over the state of Texas playing in the Father-Son tournaments for 27 years. They won many trophies and Larry James even got his first hole-in-one. He also had a love for baseball, holding season tickets to the Dallas Baptist University games for over 5 years.

Larry James will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

We invite everyone to celebrate his life with us at a memorial service to be held on Saturday, July 13th at 11:00 am at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, 332 Cedar Street, Cedar Hill, Texas.
