Juan Aleman Mendez was born on March 13, 1953, in El Saucito, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Consuelo Aleman and Felipe Mendez. He passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his loving family, on July 23, 2025, at the age of 72
Juan was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was known for his kindness, humility, and his deep love for everyone around him. A true family man, Juan always put others before himself and helped anyone in need. He enjoyed planting and watering his flowers, shopping at garage sales and "las Pulgas" (flea markets) and listening to music with his beloved wife. His younger siblings looked up to him not only as a brother but as a father figure.
Juan was preceded in death by his father, Felipe Mendez. He is survived by
his loving wife of 47 years, Darlene Mendez; his mother
Consuelo Aleman; his children, Juan Reyes (wife Lisa Reyes) and Rosemary Trujillo (husband Frank Trujillo); his siblings Celia Mendez, Jesus Mendez, Roberto Mendez (wife Socorro Mendez), Gerardo Mendez (wife Rocio Mendez), Abigail Mendez Aleman, Manuela Mendez, and Felipe Mendez.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Juan "Chris" Reyes, Alexis Reyes, Marcus Montoya, Brianna Bonilla, and Angel Guerra; and his great-grandchildren: Rylee and John Wilkerson, and Marcus Montoya, Jr. Juan will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who were blessed by his presence and love.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 4:30 PM.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the same chapel. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Juan Aleman Mendez nació el 13 de marzo de 1953 en El Saucito, Zacatecas, México, hijo de Consuelo Aleman y Felipe Mendez. Falleció pacíficamente en su hogar en Dallas, Texas, rodeado de su familia, el 23 de julio de 2025, a la edad de 72 años.
Juan fue un hombre amoroso: hijo, esposo, padre, hermano, abuelo y bisabuelo. Se le recordará por su bondad, humildad y el amor profundo que tenía por todos. Fue un verdadero hombre de familia, siempre dispuesto a ayudar a quien lo necesitara. Disfrutaba sembrar y regar sus flores, visitar ventas de garaje y pulgas, y escuchar música junto a su querida esposa. Sus hermanos y hermana menores lo admiraban como a un padre.
A Juan le precedió en la muerte su padre, Felipe Méndez. Le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 47 años, Darlene Méndez; su madre, Consuelo Alemán; sus hijos, Juan Reyes (esposa Lisa Reyes) y Rosemary Trujillo (esposo Frank Trujillo); sus hermanos, Celia Méndez, Jesús Méndez, Roberto Méndez (esposa Socorro Méndez), Gerardo Méndez (esposa Rocío Méndez), Abigail Méndez Alemán, Manuela Méndez y Felipe Méndez.
También le sobreviven sus nietos: Juan "Chris" Reyes, Alexis Reyes, Marcus Montoya, Brianna Bonilla y Angel Guerra; y sus bisnietos: Rylee y John Wilkerson, y Marcus Montoya, Jr. Juan será profundamente extrañado por numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas, amigos y vecinos que fueron bendecidos por su amor y presencia.
La velación se llevará a cabo el martes, 29 de julio de 2025, de 2:00 PM a 6:00 PM en Jeter & Son Funeral Home, con un rosario a las 4:30 PM.
El servicio fúnebre será el Miércoles, 30 de Julio de 2025, a las 11:00 AM en la misma capilla. El sepelio se llevará a cabo en el cementerio Grove Hill en Dallas, Texas.
