Joyce Joanna Smith

Joyce Joanna Smith went to be with Jesus Thursday February 2, 2023 in Joshua, Texas. She was born October 1, 1935 in Stamps, Arkansas to Jim Brown Lane Sr. and Elsie Austin (Hatcher) Lane.

She lived in Dallas Texas for 60 years until 2021. She was a faithful member of Kiestwood Assembly of God Church. She loved Jesus, her family, and church family. She worked at Methodist Hospital in Dallas for 23 years as a nurse's aid. She later worked at Fiesta Mart in Dallas as a cashier for 30 years until her 70th birthday.

Joyce is survived by two sisters Julia Testerman of Knoxville, Tennessee and Lucille Sisk of Joshua, Texas. Two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents listed above . Her husband Alvin D. Smith, her three sons, Jerry Kenneth Smith, Alvin Joe Smith and Donnie Ray Smith. Her brothers Marshall Jerry Lane and Jim Brown Lane and sister Anna Lee Peak.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Jeter and Son Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas. Graveside service and interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
