Joyce Carol Davis

Joyce Carol Davis passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Dallas, Texas, on September 25, 2026.

Joyce was born on March 16, 1947, in Odessa, Texas, to Roy Wilson Hogan and Margie Louise Gabrel Hogan. She attended Ector High School before pursuing her nursing education at Texas Woman's University. Joyce dedicated more than three decades of service as a Registered Nurse at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, before retiring in 2002. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others touched countless lives throughout her career.

A devoted woman of faith, Joyce was a longtime member of The Lighthouse Church in Dallas, where she found fellowship and strength in her spiritual community.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margie Hogan; her sister, Helen; her brother, John; and her beloved husband of 46 years, Daniel H. Davis.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel H. Davis II and Shaun E. Davis; her grandchildren, Alec, Jewell, and Shaun; and her great-grandchildren, Maddie, Max, and Jason and Danny She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, former colleagues, and fellow church members who will cherish her memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, 4830 W. Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the same location.

Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, located at 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232.

Joyce will be remembered for her caring heart, unwavering faith, devotion to her family, and the many lives she touched through her service as a nurse. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
