Obituary

Jonathan was born and raised in Springfield, Vermont and moved to Dallas in 1993 where he met David Dingeman who became his husband of 26 years.  David and Jonathan officially got married in NYC in July 2013.

Jonathan and David purchased an acre and a half of beautiful land in Lake Ridge and 2005 and then Jonathan proceeded to design their home with the architect to every last detail, from the columns, curved staircase, grand entry way, stone and wood floors, even down to the exact doorknobs and historically recovered brick.

Jonathan obtained his real estate license in 2003 and then worked in international corporate relocation for Exxon Mobil/Cartus.

Jonathan loved his husband, his many dogs, cats and his home. He enjoyed automobiles and owned many distinctive cars throughout his lifetime, a passion he shared with his father.  He also liked home improvement projects, international travel and fervently followed political news especially on MSNBC.  When Trump was elected, he cried in tears because he thought Trump would overturn the legal right to gay marriage.

Jonathan loved travelling to Bruges, Belgium and called it his second home and passed away there while celebrating 26 years of being with David Dingeman.  While they travelled to many places like Spain, Germany, France and so on, he always found a way to back to Bruges to spend most of his time there.   He had curated an extensive collection of Bruges art which decorated his home in Texas.  Jonathan took so many trips that he filled up his passport and expedited an application for a new one with expanded pages.

Jonathan is pre-deceased by his father, Buster Kangas, and survived by his husband, David Dingeman, mother Jennie Kangas, sister, Melissa Mooney, niece Laken Mooney, and nephew, Ryan Mooney.
