Johnny Ortega Torbellin was born on August 23, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to Melecio Torbellin and Jesusa Ortega. He passed away at the age of 73 on September 30, 2024 in Dallas, Texas.

A mechanic at heart, he retired from Dallas Area Rapid Transit, and continued his love in creating furniture pieces out of wood. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and spending time in front of a fire pit. He loved going to the casino with his friends and family. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his daughter, grandchildren, family, and friends. He had immense love and respect for his family. Johnny's memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by: his spouse, Maria Guadalupe Torbellin; his parents, Melecio and Jesusa Ortega; siblings: David Torbellin, Joe Torbellin, Rodolfo Torbellin, Jesusita Acosta, and Rosalinda Salazar.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Eileen Peralez, son-in-law, Guillermo Peralez III; grandchildren: Andrew, Jacob, Alondra, Jiovanni; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Rosa Torbellin; sister, Dolores Robles; and many more cherished family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 - 6:00PM Monday, October 7, 2024, with a

Rosary at 4:30PM at Jeter & Son Chapel, 4830 W. Illinois Ave, Dallas, Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at

Nuestra Senora del Pilar, 4455 W. Illinois Ave, Dallas, Texas.

Military honors and burial will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
