John F.
Redmon, Iv
May 1, 1992 — May 25, 2022
John F. Redmon, IV, lovingly known by his family as BJ (short for baby John) entered the peace of the Lord after a battle with depression on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the age of 30. He is survived by his father, John F. Redmon III, his mother, Chonita Redmon, his older sister, Tatiana D. Stewart, and his younger sister, Morena S. Redmon.
John was born on Fort Hood, Texas where his father was serving in the U.S. Army. As an "Army brat," John traveled overseas and throughout the United States with his parents but he never relinquished his Texan identity. He lived most of his school-age years in Western Washington State where his father was stationed and made many lasting friendships that endured his entire lifetime.
John was a talented actor, singer, and musician. He looked every bit the Hollywood leading man but remained very down-to-earth and grounded. While those around him knew him to be a powerful talent on-stage they knew him to be even more so loving, caring, and personable off.
Because of his warm and generous personality, John never met a stranger and was loved by all. It is most-often said of him that his smile, sense of humor, and joi de vivre was infectious. John's laughter invited those around him to join in—he was known to be the life of the party. John also offered a sympathetic ear and encouraging words sincerely and often to his friends and family.
Most recently John served as an Electronic Technician in the United States Navy with the EOD Expeditionary Support Unit Two and separated from the Navy in 2022.
John was a true Renaissance man with interests from hydroponics to spy-craft to politics and current events. He loved to hike, swim, and fish. He was a life-long learner and well-read in many areas. He enjoyed conversing and even debating on various topics, expressing passion but always respectfully.
He was a self-described "Momma's boy," who admired his father and adored his sisters. He was a gentle, caring young man who endeavored to show empathy and kindness to the greatest extent possible.
John will be missed by his father, mother, sister, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friend's past and present. He has left us, however, with many memories of love and laughter to see us through. His loss is a tragedy that we will mourn in this lifetime, but we rejoice that he is now at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that we will see him once again in the life to come.
Go with God, our beautiful boy, we will see you on the other side.
John's Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at First Baptist Church Dallas, 1707 San Jacinto Street, Dallas Texas, 75201. All are invited.
