Joel R. Velasquez (83 años) nació en San Carlos, Tamaulipas el 8 de Julio de 1941, hijo de Daniel Velasquez (+) y Guadalupe Ramírez Velasquez (+) Hermanos: Dalila, Rubén, Herminia (+) María, Alicia, Elva (+) Daniel (+)

A Joel le sobreviven su esposa Petra Pacheco Velasquez, hijos Joel Velasquez (Lucia Velasquez) Salvador Velasquez (Mary Velasquez) hijas Lupita Lozano (David Lozano) Yolanda Aguilar (Jose Aguilar) y varios nietos y bisnietos

Se casó con su hermosa novia Petra en Enero de 1967.  Recientemente celebraron su 58 aniversario de boda. Se establecieron en Grand Prairie, donde criaron a su familia. Joel trabajó como soldador durante muchos años y más tarde pasó al departamento de transporte Pharr San Juan Alamo ISD y Grand Prairie ISD. Sus grandes amores en la vida fueron El Señor Jesucristo, su familia, el canto y su guitarra. Era un hombre tranquilo y serio con una debilidad por sus nietos. Nos deja con sus bendiciones, fuerza, sabiduría y hermosos recuerdos. Le dio su vida a Jesús a una edad temprana y permaneció fiel hasta que fue llamado a su casa en cielo.  Su lugar de descanso final será en el cielo, pero permanecerá en nuestros corazones para siempre

La familia Velasquez desea extender un agradecimiento especial a sus cuidadores Salvador Velasquez Jr. y Breeana Velasquez por el cuidado especial a nuestro padre mientras se preparaba para ir al cielo.

Joel R. Velasquez (83 years) was born in San Carlos, Tamaulipas on July 8, 1941 to Daniel Velasquez (+) and Guadalupe Ramirez Velasquez (+) Siblings:  Dalila, Ruben, Herminia (+) Maria, Alicia, Elva (+) Daniel (+).

Joel is survived by his wife Petra Pacheco Velasquez, sons Joel Velasquez (Lucia Velasquez) Salvador Velasquez (Mary Velasquez) daughters Lupita Lozano (David Lozano) Yolanda Aguilar (Jose Aguilar) and multiple grand children and great grand children.

He married his beautiful bride Petra in January 1967.  They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.  They settled in Grand Prairie where they raised their family. Joel worked as a welder for many years and later transitioned to the transportation department Pharr San Juan Alamo ISD and Grand Prairie ISD.  His great loves in life were The Lord, his family, singing and his guitar.  He was a quiet and serious man with a soft spot for his grandchildren.  He leaves us with his blessings, strength, wisdom and beautiful memories.  He gave his life to Jesus at an early age and remained faithful until he was called home.  His final resting place will be in heaven but he will remain in our hearts forever.

The Velasquez Family would like to extend a special thank you to his caretakers Salvador Velasquez Jr. and Breeana Velasquez for the special care provided to our father as he prepared to go to heaven.

Visitation Wednesday April 2, 2025 from 3:00 - 6:00PM at Jeter & Son Chapel.

Funeral service Thursday April 3, 2025 at 11:00AM.

Service and prayer will be lead by Hno. David Lozano Sr.

Burial to follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
