Joe Lopez Martinez, Jr. aka "Chato" was born on March 9, 1964, at Methodist Hospital to Joe Lopez Martinez & Yolanda Martinez. On October 7, 2022, Joe passed away at the age of 58.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe Lopez Martinez and Yolanda Martinez, grandparents Luciano & Martina Martinez and Josephine & John Buenrostro.
He is survived by his Son: Joseph Benjamin Martinez; Wife Rosario Martinez and Daughter: Jennifer Lauren Hernandez and Grandchildren: Joseph Benjamin Martinez Jr., Jesse Bo Martinez, Briana Michelle Martinez; Rene Lucas III, Jay Marcus Hernandez, Angelina Rose Escareno, Davianna Jenelle Escareno, Ruby-Ann Josephine Villanueva, Joseph Edward Villanueva Jr.
Siblings & their spouses: Patricia & Rick Martinez Arevalo, Diana Martinez, Gloria & Michael Hernandez & Maricela Martinez. Joe also had 14 nieces and nephews, along with numerous great nieces, nephews, tias, tios and cousins.
Chato was born in Dallas, Texas, and would run the streets of 'La Bajada'. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, Coca-Colas, Tejano and Oldies music. He loved dressing sharp as was known as "Mr. GQ", he certainly was a ladies' man. Even through adversities he continued his education and obtained his Associates Degree.
Chato lived a lifetime of loving his family, his sisters, nieces, nephews, Tia's, Tio's & cuzin's.
His proudest accomplishments are his children and grandchildren in which his legacy will certainly live on through them.
He missed his mother dearly and was ready to reunite with his Mom & Daddy. We know they grabbed his hand as he entered the kingdom of heaven!
He lived his life to the fullest in his famous words:
"Dallas Texas, the greatest city in the world!"

Visitation will be held on Friday, October14, 2022 starting at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Jeter & Son Funeral Home located at 4830 West Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211.
Funeral Service will be held at Jeter & Son on Saturday October 15, 2022, at 11:00 am with graveside following at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery 3235 Lombardy Lane Dallas, Texas
