Jesus Garcia Arcos was born on June 10, 1932, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to his parents, Jacobo Garcia and Catalina Arcos. He passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024, in Dallas, Texas surrounded by his family.
On November 7, 1954, Jesus married Socorro Garcia in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. He was a man of many trades and a natural-born entrepreneur, distinguished by his dedication and versatility. His hobbies included music, poetry, & literature - with music being his greatest passion. These were intrinsic to his nature.
Jesus' home was always filled with music, laughter, and love. He accumulated an extensive collection of tapes, CDs, and vinyl records. He cherished his time spent listening to music with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, playing his cherished selections for all visitors.
Devoted to his Catholic faith, Jesus found solace and community in numerous parishes throughout his later years.
He is survived by his wife Socorro Garcia, his sister Concha Schaefer, his children: Jesus Garcia, María Eugenia Solorzano, Daniel Garcia, Estuardo García, Claudia Lawrence, and Carlos Durán; grandchildren: Mayra Ruiz, Cynthia Velázquez, Giovani Solorzano, Daniela Solorzano, Antonelo Solorzano, Marcella Solorzano, Daniel Ulysses Garcia II, Sara Steen, Miranda Garcia, Jacob González, Stephanie Haselroth, Priscilla Salazar, Paulina Thomas, Jesús J. Garcia, Diego Garcia, Ulyses Garcia, Berenice Garcia, Alejandra Sabido, Mauricio Garcia, Jesús Jacobo Garcia, Alan Garcia, Axel Garcia, Adrian Garcia; and his great-grandchildren: Andrea, Ana, Sebastian, Catalina, Julian, Valentina, William, Isabella, Diego, Alexander, Sofia, Beckham, Jack, Lucia, London, Bella, Blair, and several others.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, Jacobo Garcia and Catalina Arcos, his daughter Thelma Gonzalez, and his grandson Jesús Javier Garcia.
Jesus will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his gentle spirit, and his boundless generosity. His legacy of love and dedication to his family, friends, and community will continue to inspire all who knew him.
The Garcia family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Dallas Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Jesus' final days.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Jeter & Son Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024,
University of Dallas, Church of the Incarnation, 1845 E Northgate Dr, Irving, TX 75062.
