Jennifer
Thompson
Sep 27, 1973 — Jan 4, 2026
Jennifer Lynne Thompson
Jennifer Lynne Thompson, age 52, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 27, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, to Carl Lynn Wilson and Frances Ann Fields.
Jennifer was a proud graduate of Duncanville High School, Class of 1992. On a spring day in May of 2008, she married the love of her life, Joe David Thompson, whom she met at work. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others.
Jennifer thrived in roles that allowed her to care for people. She served for many years at First Baptist Church of Duncanville in the nursery of the Mother's Day Out program, lovingly caring for children and supporting young families. Most recently, she worked at First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill, where she served as the office minister. In every position she held, Jennifer's warmth, diligence, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression.
A true people person, Jennifer found joy in being with those she loved. She delighted in going on "adventures," whether that meant trying a new restaurant, discovering a new spot in town, or revisiting a favorite place. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed audiobooks. Known for always being warm, endlessly enthusiastic, and instantly recognizable by her striking white hair, Jennifer was also a famously fast talker—though her thoughts often raced even faster than her words.
Jennifer was most often described as joyful. She was kind, warm, inviting, cheerful, faithful, loving, forgiving, generous, and deeply sentimental. Many said she was the nicest person they had ever met. She lived to love people the way Jesus loves—meeting others where they were, offering empathy freely, and forgiving quickly. Her life was marked by laughter, grace, and an unwavering faith. In every circumstance, she was quick to give God the glory, often saying, "But God is good."
Above all, Jennifer was an incredible wife and mother. She was Joe, Jenna, and Jude's biggest and loudest cheerleader, always showing up, always encouraging, and always loving fiercely. She led by example, carrying herself with quiet strength and a heart full of devotion.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Carl Lynn Wilson, and by a beloved child lost before birth.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe David Thompson; her children, Jenna Lynne Moore and her husband Ethan Tyler Moore, and Jude Elliot Thompson; her mother, Frances Ann Fields; her brother, Bradley Wade Wilson, his wife, and their two children; and a host of extended family members and friends who were blessed by her life. Jennifer also faithfully attended Stonegate Church in Midlothian, where she found community and fellowship.
Jennifer Lynne Thompson will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her joyful spirit, her unwavering faith, and her extraordinary love for God and people.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, kindness, and support during this time.
