Israel Martin
Peña
Sep 21, 1965 — May 22, 2026
Israel Martin Peña, age 60, passed away on May 22, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 21, 1965, in Moline, Illinois, to Fred and Maria Noelia Peña.
Israel dedicated his life to education and to serving others. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education and Special Education from Western Illinois University. Over the course of more than twenty years, he faithfully served as an educator in Iowa, Illinois, and Texas, impacting the lives of countless students and families through his patience, compassion, and commitment.
Outside of his career, Israel's greatest joy was his family — especially his grandchildren. Whether it was trips to the park, golfing, swimming, attending soccer practices and games, or simply being present whenever needed, he made himself available at a moment's notice. His grandchildren were the center of his world, and the love he showed them will forever remain a treasured memory.
Israel was also known for his generous spirit and loyal friendships. He held his friends close and was always willing to give his time, encouragement, and help to others without hesitation. His kindness and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maria Noelia Peña; his brother, Federico Peña; and his nephew, Antonio Valenzuela.
Israel is survived by his son, Sebastian Peña and daughter-in-law Riley Peña of Dallas, Texas; his beloved grandchildren, Maxwell, Lennox, Matteo, and Lottie Peña, all of Dallas; his sister, Sandra Savala and her husband Steven Savala and family of Silvis, Illinois; and his son, Dominick Peña of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Israel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his servant's heart, devotion to family, and the kindness he freely gave to others.
