Idell Lewis Moffett was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 18, 1932 and died in Frisco, Texas on July 8, 2025 at the age of 93.

Idell graduated from Harlandale High School in San Antonio and married her high school sweetheart, Sammie L. Murdock with whom she had two children, Sam and Melody. She later married the love of her life, Hershel L. Moffett with whom had her son, Michael. Idell is survived by her 3 children, Sam L. Moffett, Melody Hall and Michael Moffett, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

After high school, Idell briefly worked for a law firm as a legal secretary and then began modeling for the Ben Shaw Modeling Studio in San Antonio. She eventually owned and operated her own private modeling school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana until she and her family moved to Dallas where she met Mary Kay Ash.

Idell began her Mary Kay career in 1963 after meeting Mary Kay Ash and achieved Executive National Sales Director status on Dec 10, 1964. She held the highest achievable independent sales management position in Mary Kay for 17 years and built a top sales organization. Among other awards, Idell was honored as a member of the Mary Kay Inner Circle. In accordance with company policy at the time, Idell retired from Mary Kay at age 65.

Idell was a member of the National Speakers Association and the National Speakers Association of North Texas. She served as Program Chair for the National Speakers Association of North Texas and was honored with the President's Award for 2 consecutive years.
