Hilda Vasquez Montemayor
June 20, 1962 – October 1, 2026
Hilda Vasquez Montemayor, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and the heart of her family, passed away on October 1, 2026, surrounded by those who loved her.
Hilda was married to Adan Montemayor, the love of her life, for 37 years. Their life together was built on love, devotion, companionship, and a lasting bond that reflected the love and commitment they shared throughout their life together.
A strong woman with a gentle heart, Hilda was guided by her faith and known for her generosity, warmth, and loving presence. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and treasured every moment spent with her family. Being a grandmother and great-grandmother brought her special happiness, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her heart with immense joy.
One of ten siblings, Hilda was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Family was deeply important to her, and she treasured time spent together, sharing laughter, stories, and the simple pleasures of being with those closest to her. The love she gave so freely created memories her family will hold dear for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Samuel and Herminia Vasquez; her brother, Albert Vasquez; and her son-in-law, Antonio Chantaca III.
She is survived by her husband, Adan Montemayor; her children, Sabrina and Brian Cruz, Hilda Chantaca, and David F. Cervantes Jr.; her grandchildren, Michael Saucedo, Jennifer and Airan Morales, Nathan Escobedo, Isaiah and Haylee Flores, Sarah Flores, Giovanni and Joshua Chantaca, Jason Cervantes, and Anthony and Amy Cruz; and her great-grandchildren, Robert Saucedo, Jeremiah Bell, Xayda and Ximena Flores, and Luca and Luna Cruz.
Hilda’s strength, faith, and guidance shaped the family she leaves behind. She gave so much of herself to the people she loved, and her influence will continue through the values she taught, the example she set, and the memories she created. Though her family will feel her absence deeply, they will also carry her presence in their hearts.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that Hilda fought the good fight, kept the faith, and is now resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Her life was a blessing, her love was a gift, and her memory will remain a lasting source of comfort to all who knew her.
“Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;
they find rest as they lie in death.”
Isaiah 57:2 (NIV)
