Herlinda was born on June 30, 1941, in Dallas, Texas. She was the youngest child of Cleofas and Placida Vasquez. She attended N. R. Crozier Technical High School and later worked as a printer for Supreme Engraving Co. of Dallas. Herlinda worked in other jobs throughout her life and always served others with a winning smile! Her last job was probably her most rewarding as she gave care to a baby girl, Rhea Nicole Castilleja. She faithfully cared for her " Chiquita Bonita " until her death.
Herlinda has two living sisters: Eugenia Moreno; and Juanita Trillo and her husband Juan. She is also survived by her daughter, Belinda Luna, and her husband Joe, and by her son, Carlos Rene Rodriguez.
Herlinda leaves behind her granddaughter Bianca Celeste Martinez and husband Josue Martinez. She is also survived by grandson, Joe Raul Luna III, and his wife Araceli, as well as grandson, Julian Alexander Luna, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Her great - grandchildren are Jonathan Joshua Martinez; Isaac Michael Martinez; Sophia Giselle Martinez; Josue Martinez, Jr.; Andrew Javier Gonzales; Jocelyn Nevaeh Luna; and Joe Damien Luna III.
She is preceded in death by three brothers: Marcos Vasquez, Jesse Vasquez, and Frank Vasquez and by three sisters: Frances Salazar, Pauline Cervantes, and Marcela Gonzales.
Herlinda was a founding member of City Cross Church in Dallas; Texas and she was known to all the members of the church as " our Aunt Linda ". Also, she was a faithful member of the Woman's Auxiliary at American Legion Post 275.
Memorial Service will be Tuesday , September 13 , 2022 , at 10:30 am at Jeter and Son Funeral Home , 4830 W. Illinois , Dallas , Texas 75211. Following the memorial service, a time of fellowship with the family will be held at the at American Legion Post 275; 2804 S. Cockrell Hill Rd. Dallas, Texas 75211.
