Genaro Velasquez, 59, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1965, in Lubbock, Texas, to his loving parents, Antonia Sarzosa and Soilo Velasquez.
Genaro was a man who loved life, family, and good times. A devoted Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan, he never missed a game and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams. He had a passion for dancing, western movies, and spending time with those he loved. Whether enjoying a drink with friends or sharing laughs with family, he made every moment count.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Velasquez; his grandchildren, Alyssa Perez and Aiden Ruiz; and his siblings, Mary Meza, Connie Velasquez, Margie Hernandez, Sam Velasquez, and Ricardo Velasquez. He was a beloved uncle to his nephews Marco, Anthony, Carlos, Victor, Jonathan Velasquez, and Matthew Villegas, and his nieces Valerie Velasquez, Amanda Lopez, Alicia Velasquez, Victoria Villegas, and Monica Pulido. Hijinio,Hijinio jr, Ricky, Micheal, Ciedro and David, John, Paul, Vicky, "Connie sister" Chrissy, Rebecca, Ricky, Eric, Nuno, Melissa, Nicholas Meza Kane, Jade, Mason, Isis, Alex Meza, Ricardo, Amanda, Kyle Escabor, Margie, Michelle, Monica, James Velasquez, Veronica, Vanessa, Javi, Lucio, Victor Velasquez, and Alicia Velasquez.
Genaro was the second to last of his siblings, a role that shaped his close bonds with his family. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories to those around him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love of life and the joy he brought to so many.
A visit to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, 4830 West Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. in the same Chapel. Burial to follow at Calvary Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
