Frances Ann Dalche Tipps
October 21, 1933 ~ October 1, 2025
Frances Ann Dalche Tipps was born in Dallas, Texas, on October 21, 1933, and passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was 20 days shy of her 92nd birthday and courageously trusted in God and fought oral cancer for 14 years. Through no fault of her own, oral cancer made its unwanted entrance into her life in 2013. Jesus has now graciously called her to His permanent heavenly home. Her family will miss her...her liveliness, her childhood stories of how God's hand protected and guided her life, her story of meeting her future husband Ed Tipps, her love of "beauty" (music, art, interior design, architecture) and the laughs she afforded us all!
After her parents divorce in the mid-1930's, from about 7-17 years of age Frances lived in The Emily Dorsey Home for Little Girls, a residential home for girls from broken homes. This Oak Cliff home, under the guidance of Emily Dorsey, became her refuge and a stable, loving environment that introduced her to the love and grace of Jesus, espousing Christian values and teaching those values to the girls. In later life Frances would frequently express deep appreciation and remember with immense gratitude Ms. Dorsey and this miracle home God had given her.
She attended Adamson High School and married the love of her life Edwin "Ed" Doyle Tipps. They were married 40 years before Ed passed away in 1991. She is survived by two adult children, Paul Tipps (Dallas, TX) and Angela Kay Tipps Freeman and spouse Gary Freeman (North Richland Hills, TX), grandchildren Ashley Tipps Kinney and spouse Rich Kinney, Elliot Tipps, Landon Freeman and Annalise Freeman McLain and spouse Nate McLain, and six great-grandchildren.
She invested her life as a mother and wife, an interior designer and real estate agent. She commonly called herself "a lover of beauty" and indeed loved the arts (music and art museums) and travel and enjoyed singing in church choirs and attending Bible studies. She was also a plant and pet lover.
Her graveside service will be on Thursday, October 9, 10:00 a.m., at Laurel Land Funeral Home in south Dallas. Since she had a lifelong love and deep compassion for those hurting and in need of help, in lieu of flowers we recommend that gifts in Frances' memory be sent to Samaritan's Purse ( www.SamaritansPurse.org ).
We also thank Home Instead of North Richland Hills for their compassionate care of Frances over the last two and a half years. In particular we express our gratitude to Jenny, her primary caregiver who became a devoted friend and loved Frances as her own family.
You are invited to attend a Memorial Service to honor Frances on Thursday, October 16, 10:00 a.m., at Gateway Church NRH, located at 7501 Davis Blvd., North Richland Hills, TX 76182.
