Erlinda De La Torre
October 11, 1953 - December 9, 2023
Erlinda DeLaTorre, known to her loved ones as Linda, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 70 in Arlington, Texas. She was born Erlinda Gonzalez on October 11, 1953, in Levelland, Texas. Linda was a woman of faith and had a powerful voice and testimony that resonated throughout the Spanish Assemblies of God community. She was admired for her unwavering devotion to worship and her love for the Lord.
Linda's daughters fondly remember waking up every Saturday morning to the sound of her singing worship choruses at the top of her voice while cooking and cleaning. Her dedication to a life of worship remained steadfast, even in the face of health trials and life's challenges. For over 10 years, Linda faithfully served in children's ministry, bringing joy and inspiration to the young hearts she encountered. She took great pride in following the lives and accomplishments of the children she had ministered to, now grown, through social media.
Above all, Linda cherished her grandchildren. She spoke about them with immense pride and love, sharing stories of their achievements with anyone who would listen. From making the kids' ramen soup, to keeping every note, card, and project they made for her, Linda was content in her role as Nana. Always willing to babysit and visit, she never turned down an opportunity to love on her grandbabies. It was her highest priority that her kids and grandkids know the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Linda passed away surrounded by her daughters, Amy and Katy, and their loving husbands, Gilbert and Emmanuel, who will continue to cherish and protect her girls until they are reunited in heaven.
Linda is survived by numerous siblings, her daughter Amy Moreno, son-in-law Gilbert Moreno, and their children Seth, Daniel, Isabella, and Nathaniel. She is also survived by her daughter Katy Medina, son-in-law Emmanuel Medina, their daughter, Michallena, and her first husband, Adolfo H. Martinez. Linda was preceded in death by her second husband Robert DeLaTorre, her parents Pablo and Refugia Gonzalez, and several brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10:30 am at Westover Hills Assembly of God Church in San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Embrace Grace, an organization close to Linda's heart.
