Elemer Engel
Elemer Engel was born January 26, 1932 to Gusztav and Erzsebet Engel in Budapest, Hungary, and passed away November 12, 2024, in Midlothian, Texas.
As a young man, Elemer served in the Hungarian Army and was also a proud freedom fighter during the 1956 Hungarian/Russian revolution. He escaped his country during the revolution with his wife, and fled to Belgium. Unfortunately, they had to leave their young child behind with family members. After a few years, when they were finally reunited with their daughter, they made the move to the United States and settled in Dallas, Texas, where his brother already resided.
Elemer was a lifelong tool and die maker, a profession he loved. He continued working well into his 70s because he enjoyed his work. When not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family and circle of friends. His social calendar was always full, and he was often the life of the party.
He is survived by his daughter Judit Tanos and son-in-law Steve; daughter Christina Smith; grandchildren Eric Beckwith and Kristina Csanki; and great-grandchildren Kalia and Logan Beckwith.
A memorial service will be held sometime in the future.
