She is survived by her older brother Lloyd Teeter; younger sister Erna Carlisle; youngest son David Oswald (Jennifer); oldest son Kevin Oswald (Tammy); honorary daughter Tonya Sims (Derrick); grandchildren: Megan Oswald Norwood (John), Miste Bailey (Clifton), Vanessa Oswald, Mikca Hancock (Aaron), Daniel Copes (Brittney), Jayson Copes (Dillon); eight (8) great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, & friends who are family.
Betty, nicknamed "Betty Boop" by her father, grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1963 where she met Larry through a friend. They fell in love and got married August 2, 1963. They spent their early married years moving state to state with their first son, Kevin. In 1972, they settled in Cedar Hill, Texas as their new home to raise their second son, David. For 59 years, they shared a love story that took them on adventures worldwide.
Betty shared Larry's passion for motorcycles and became a founding member of GWTA (Gold Wing Touring Association) with him in 1987. GWTA was a major part in the adventures the couple shared and brought many new loved ones into their lives.
Betty joined Cedar Heights Baptist Church in December of 1975 and later served as their official secretary after retiring from Arco Oil. She loved sharing her love for her church and Lord Jesus Christ. She was known by all as a generous, warm-hearted person that welcomed everyone with open arms.
