David Anthony Slater
David Anthony Slater was born on April 16, 1994, to Linda and Michael Slater in Alexandria, Louisiana. He died on July 13, 2024 at his home in Grand Prairie, Texas. He graduated from Grace Christian School in 2012, Louisiana Tech University in 2016, and received his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Harding University in 2020.
David is the husband of Lianna Slater. They shared four years of marriage and a daughter, Hadley Slater, born in November 2023. He worked as a physical therapist for four years. David enjoyed baseball, woodworking, and building electronics and motorcycles. He loved spending time with family and his dogs, Barkley, Bandit, and Zeus. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He was quick-witted and could make you laugh. Most importantly, David valued his faith in Jesus and his family.
David is survived by his father Michael Slater, step-mother Charlene Slater, and six older siblings: Nancy Lonsberry spouse Billy, Christina Slay spouse Ron, Jamie Canova spouse Frankie, Sarah Thornhill spouse Blake, James Slater, and Tim Slater spouse Courtney, as well as seven nieces and five nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Linda Slater, maternal grandparents Acy and Ana Marchand, and paternal grandparents James and Ertestine Slater.
Visitation will be held at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 with a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
