Obituary

Dale Moore, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by family on August 31, 2026. Born on February 18, 1947, in Texas, Dale was the cherished son of the late Pat Moore and Ethlene Dunsworth.

Dale's life was marked by love, service, and dedication. He grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas, graduating from Brewer High School in 1965. With a passion for education, he pursued higher learning at Tarleton State University, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

In 1968, Dale married the love of his life, Bina Hornsby, on July 4, 1968 at First Baptist Church in Stephenville, TX. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their three sons, Richard (Michaela), Allen (Janis), and Bobby (Shannon). Dale's legacy continues through his five grandchildren—Shanae'a (John), Aria, Zachary (Eliana), Isaac, and Lily —and his great-granddaughter, Isla Faye.

Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he dedicated his life to public education, teaching in various school districts across Texas for 31 years. His influence and dedication inspired countless students and colleagues until his retirement in 2010.

A man of deep faith, Dale was an active member of many Southern Baptist churches throughout Texas, often serving as the Music Minister. His unwavering commitment to his faith led him to work with the Dallas chapter of Texas Baptist Men, now known as Texans on Mission. In this role, he traveled across the U.S. and Africa, providing relief during natural disasters. His dedication earned him the esteemed "White Cap" after many years of service.

Beyond his professional and spiritual endeavors, Dale was an ardent, though often disappointed, life-long, Dallas Cowboys fan.

Dale is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Waymon Moore. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Bina, their children, grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter, who will all cherish his memory and carry forward his values of love, service, and perseverance.

A service to celebrate Dale's life will be held on September 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM with visitation starting 9:30 AM at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, located at 4830 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas, TX 75211.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Texans on Mission at (214) 275-1100, in honor of Dale's dedication to service and his impactful work in disaster relief.

Dale Moore will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his service to others, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be touched by his kindness and generosity.
