Cynthia Cherie Orona was born August  20, 1975 and passed away December 19, 2022.

She was devoted mother to Benjamin (son), Amelia (daughter), and loving wife to Greg (husband). She is also survived by Jerry Walker (dad) and many cousins who loved her as her own.  She is preceded in death by Sarah Walker (mother) and many aunts and uncles.

In 2013 she received a Doctor of Philosophy, Professional Education Studies, with a focus in Mathematics Education from Oklahoma State University. Most recently she served as Program Coordinator for the project titled Native American Middle-school Students Afterschool STEM ( https://www.namsas.net/) at Oklahoma State University. From 2013 – 2018, she served as Assistant Professor of Childhood Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Arkansas. She was a teacher in Fayetteville Public Schools (2020-2021), Pegasus Charter School (2003-2010), Justice Elementary School (2001-2003), Bright Future Academy (1999-2001), and Waxahachie Faith Family Academy (1999).

Visitation will be 12 Noon - 1:00 PM Friday December 30, 2022, with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM, at Jeter & Son Funeral Home, Cedar Hill Chapel, 332 Cedar St., Cedar Hill, TX  75104.  Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.
