Curtis Edmond Williams, age 86 passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday August 24, 2023.
Curt, a proud member of the Ponca tribe of Oklahoma, was born on June 7, 1937, in Pawnee, OK to Parrish Williams and Eunice Cries for Ribs Williams. He attended Rhine School and graduated from Marland High School. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for two years followed by four years in U.S. Air Force as a mechanic with the Strategic Air Command.
He would meet and marry the love of his life, Evona Roughface Williams and relocate to Dallas, TX in December 1960 under the Indian Relocation program. He was a member of the Dallas Indian United Methodist Church (DIUMC). His first job in Dallas was with J.W. Flood Printing where he became a Journeymen Printer, he later became a Master Printer at the Dallas Times Hearld. He was an entrepreneur who at one time owned his own lawn service and the NDN Trading Post.
Curtis and Eve moved from Dallas to Grand Prairie where they raised their six kids. He was a great athlete and was very involved in the kids' and grandkids' sporting activities. He was a very loving Dad, Grandpa and Old Grandpa.
He is survived by his son, Michael Williams, and wife Debi; daughter, Debra Stevens, and husband Larry; daughter, Dana Rudman, and husband Chris; son, Anthony Williams; son, Vohn Williams, and wife Janice Gray. Grandchildren Dody Clement and husband Brett; Rudolph Stevens and wife Manna; Serena Rudman; Valerie Rudman; William Stevens and wife Vanessa; and Kaylee Stockton. Great grandchildren Airon Clement, Bryan Rudman, Lydia Stevens, Phoebe Stevens, Bradlee Rudman, Penelope Stevens, and Luca Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evona Roughface Williams, his parents, Parrish Williams and Eunice Cries for Ribs Williams, son Steven Williams, and grandson Christopher Rudman.
Funeral Services under the direction of Jeter and Son Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held at Dallas Indian Mission United Methodist Church on Monday, August 28, 2023, 2:00- 4:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 4:00pm.
Military Honors and Internment will be at 11:15am at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery on September 6, 2023. Please arrive at the cemetery 15 minutes early and park behind the funeral home vehicles. An online guest book can be found at www.jeterandson.com
